FAQ

What is an LCD projector?
An LCD projector is a self-contained unit that combines one to three LCD panels and a light source for a complete computer and/or video projection device. Generally more convenient and efficient than using a separate LCD panel and overhead, LCD projectors come in a wide variety of sizes and specifications.

What is an ANSI lumen?
An ANSI lumen is a measure of brightness put out by a projection device, as standardized by the American National Standards Institute.

How many ANSI lumens do I need to get a good image?
This depends on your room lighting conditions and screen size. As a rough guide, a rating of 150 to 300 ANSI lumens is adequate with a 60" diagonal screen with room lights off, but you should look for something in the 400 - 500 range for a 100" to 150" screen with lights dimmed, and at least 800 ANSI lumens when you go to a 300" screen or want to project in bright lighting conditions.

What about a warranty?
We provide one year warranty.

How about the weight?
Projectors are from 5.5- 6.5kgs.

What is native resolution?
Projectors and LCD screens have a fixed number of pixels, referred to as the native resolution and is the resolution the device looks best at. In other words, it is the resolution at which the display device does not have to expand or compress the input signal.

What if my computers resolution does not match my projectors native resolution?
The best solution is to alter the Windows resolution to match your projector. If this is not possible then the projector will expand or compress the incoming signal to suit it's native resolution.

How to connect my computer to my projector?
All presentation projectors are supplied with the appropriate cable to connect to your PC. This will usually be either a VGA cable or a DVI cable.

So how bright should I go?
The brightness of projectors is measured in ANSI lumens. In general, the brighter the image a projector can produce, the more impact your presentation will have and the more amibient light the projector can cope with. For small groups of people in an office 1500 lumens is fine, Bear in mind that the quality of the screen and the ambient light will have a dramatic effect on the image brightness.

What screen size should I use.
As a rule of thumb, your audience should be sitting a minimum of 1.5-2.5 times the screen width away from the screen, so choose a screen appropriate to this guideline.

What is keystone correction?
Keystoning is when your image appears wider at the top or bottom due the projector being positioned somewhere other than the center of the screen. Keystone correction, or lens shift, corrects this rectangular distortion. Most LCD projectors today have a fixed keystone factor (allowing the projector to be placed at about an 8-degree angle lower or higher than the center of the screen), but many allow you to adjust keystoning. Thus you can place the projector on your conference table, on carts of various heights, or mount it on a ceiling of various heights without having to worry about ending up with a distorted image.

How to replace the light bulb?

What is gain and why is it important?
Gain is the concept of a relative ratio of brightness between a sample and a standard. The Gain of 2 would be twice as bright as the standard. Since the light is reflecting back to the audience in a front projection screen, the higher the gain is the closer one has to sit directly in front of the screen, whereas if you had a lower gain screen you might be able to sit off axis as far as 40 to 60 degrees and still have a quality image.

What size screens do you make?
We make size from 38" up to 130" diagonal in 4:3,16:9,1:1

What's low gain and its advantage?
A low gain screen is Diffusive and the material has a gain of between 0.9 and 1.3. i.e. it reflects 90% to 130% more light than the standard white magnesium oxide board in exactly the same conditions. There are two advantage of low gain. One is giving a greater viewing angle - so no matter where you and your guests sit the picture will be equally bright & clear, perfect for most Home Theatre situations.
The other is giving colour neutral reproduction, so all of your movies look natural and life like.

What's high gain?
A high gain screens are either Reflective or Retro Reflective and the material might have a gain of 1.8 or even 2.2. i.e. it reflects 180% or even 220% more light than the standard white magnesium oxide board.

What is ALLY matte white fabric?
Adopt advanced processing technology, the fabric is made of super slim material which make the surface very even. Greater viewing angle of nearly 180º and soft light, make color neutral and natural. It's flat curtain and no bad smell and no distortion. Luminance index is larger than 2.

What is ALLY glass beaded fabric?
Adopt advanced processing technology, the fabric has a high gain and high brightness which makes a good vision effect in bright condition. It's flat curtain and no bad smell and no distortion.

What is ALLY matte grey fabric?
Adopt advanced processing technology, which improve image contrast. It absorbs the reflected light and have an impact on perceived contrast more so than the contrast capability of the projector in ambient light conditions. It's flat curtain and no bad smell and no distortion.

What is ALLY gray glass beaded fabric?
With a gain of more than 1.8, with effective scattering angle more than 65゜, high contrast and resolution, fine color rendition, good vision effect. The beads are mechanically unstable, which is easily fall off entirely. It is not recommended for use in applications in which it is likely to be handled frequently. It can't be washed. It is recommended for use with some hign end standard projectors. It's suitable for home cinema.

In which ways can screen reflect?
Screens can reflect light in 3 different ways: 1. Diffusive – reflects with almost complete diffusion 2. Reflective – reflects in the opposite direction to the source (if the projector is ceiling mounted, light is reflected from the screen back toward to floor. 3. Retro Reflective – reflects back to the source.

How many types are there in the aspect ratio for your screens?
Three types format: HD format 16:9,Vedio format 4:3 and Square format 1:1.
